Why I Like Dragons

The reason I adore dragons as a fantasy novelist is that they represent awe, grandeur, and mystery. For generations, they have been a mainstay of fantasy literature, and their appeal is still strong today. They provide countless chances for inquiry and discovery and, in my opinion, embody the magic and creativity that fuel this particular genre. Dragons are a symbol of the endless possibilities of fantasy, whether they are ferocious creatures or sage companions, and I find that to be tremendously motivating.

Of course! These creatures can evoke a sense of awe and wonder in readers, and as an author, I find that to be a powerful tool in my storytelling. They can be the main villains or the trusted allies, and the dynamic between a dragon and their riders or keepers can be a rich source of conflict, adventure, and growth for characters. The idea of a dragon hoarding treasure and guarding it with their life also adds an element of classic fantasy and an interesting plot point.

Additionally, dragons can come in a variety of shapes, sizes, and colors, each with their own unique abilities, personalities, and cultures. This allows for a lot of creative freedom as an author, and it keeps the concept of dragons fresh and exciting. Whether they breathe fire, ice, or poison, each dragon has its own unique characteristics that make them unique and memorable.

Dragon shifter love

For these reasons and many more, I love writing about dragons in my fantasy stories, and I hope that readers continue to love encountering these magical creatures as well.

More reasons for these magnificent beasts

Another reason I love writing about dragons is that they can serve as a metaphor for deeper themes and ideas. For example, a dragon could represent greed and avarice, and the quest to defeat it could symbolize the struggle against materialism and the pursuit of wealth. Or, a dragon could embody the dangers of unchecked power, and the journey to defeat it could symbolize the fight for justice and freedom.

In this way, dragons can add depth and meaning to a fantasy story beyond just the surface-level excitement and adventure. They can be used to explore complex themes and ideas, and to create stories that are both entertaining and thought-provoking.

Furthermore, the relationship between dragons and humans is a fascinating one. In some stories, they are portrayed as enemies that must be defeated, while in others, they are seen as protectors or even friends. The dynamic between humans and dragons can also be a source of tension, as dragons may view humans as little more than prey or as unworthy of their trust. This creates opportunities for characters to learn and grow, as they navigate this complex relationship and strive to find common ground.

In short, dragons are an essential component of fantasy storytelling, and they offer an almost endless source of inspiration and creativity for authors. Whether as fearsome beasts, wise companions, or metaphors for deeper themes, dragons continue to captivate the imagination and to enthrall readers.

Lastly, my love of dragons

Finally, dragons represent the ultimate test of bravery, strength, and cunning. Whether a hero is facing down a dragon in battle or negotiating with one for their treasure, the encounter with a dragon is always a memorable moment in a fantasy story. The idea of overcoming such a fearsome creature is a timeless and universal theme that resonates with readers of all ages.

Looking for an Epic Shifter Adventure Book to Read? Look No Further!

You must cut the chains of your past before you can embrace your future. This inspirational story about Lars and Claire is set in the epic world of Dragon's Gap. It can be read alone, although the story concentrates on characters that are present throughout the entire series so would probably be better read between book two, (Sharm and Edith's Story) and book three (Storm and Charlie's Story).
